LettUs Grow is a fast-paced and environmentally conscious organisation based in the heart of Bristol. We design technology for indoor farms with the mission to reduce the waste and carbon footprint of fresh produce by enabling anyone, anywhere, to grow nutritious produce near its point of consumption.

As Delivery Intern at LettUs Grow, you will be a crucial member of our Delivery team, specifically focused on transforming a recently derelict greenhouse in Coalpit Heath to an operational, state of the art aeroponic farm.

Main purpose of role

This role is ideal for a practical, hands-on and friendly applicant who is keen to learn more about working for an impact-led organisation. We look forward to welcoming you to our diverse team of horticulturists, growers, engineers, marketeers and operational experts, to design and build the next generation of indoor farming technology together.

What would you be doing?

Role responsibilities:

  • Build irrigation systems for aeroponic equipment.

  • Wire electrical components including sensors, valves and pumps with the support of the wider delivery team.

  • Work with LettUs Grow’s horticulturists and growers to build an understanding of how the aeroponic equipment performs in a greenhouse.


Additional opportunities:

  • Lead the installation of upgrades to LettUs Grow’s research farm in Bristol with the support of design engineers.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to diagnose faults on our research farm in Bristol and customer sites around the UK.

Where is the opportunity based?

This position will be based in central Bristol.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience

Who are you?

  • You're interested in learning about working in the field of engineering.

  • You are inquisitive, always looking to understand how things work.

What you need:

  • Experience using basic workshop tools, including power tools. You'll get on site training but it's useful to have some prior knowledge!

  • A desire to work in a hands-on environment.

  • The ability to work safely and responsibly.

Also desirable:

  • The ability to be amenable and proactive where necessary.

We will screen applicants and then invite to interview. We interview no more than 5 people. Interviews last one hour and following the interview the candidates get a farm tour. We then make a decision!
